A confession first, I shamelessly swiped this idea from a post on The Puzzle Doctor’s blog — he has challenged himself to read 20 classical mysteries over the course of the summer and post reviews as he has finished them.
A second confession, I’m a book junkie. Every time I go into the bookstore, I buy books. A good review in the Wall Street Journal? Off to Amazon I go. Writer’s Market comes up with a new bundle of must-have books? I click on Buy. I packed four books for a five-day trip and bought two more while I was away. My bookshelves are full, and there are stacks of books on the floor in my office, my living room, and my bedroom.
Something has to be done.
In the spirit of The Puzzle Doctor’s challenge to himself, I am challenging myself to read 20 books from my bookshelf this summer – June 21 through September 20. I’ll post reviews as they are finished, then cheerfully donate the read books to the local library. That should clean a shelf…
Here are my challenge books. See my Full Disclosure page for information on Amazon links.
